Committees & Task Forces

NJVMA Committees


The Finance Committee is responsible for recommending fiscal policy (including investment policy) to the Executive Board, and for developing the Association’s annual budget for Executive Board approval.


The Legislative Committee is responsible for recommending legislative positions to the Executive Board, helping to identify key persons, and participating in meetings with government officials when indicated.

Public Relations

The Public Relations Committee is responsible for recommending public relations strategies to the Executive Board, drafting and editing communications for the public, and representing the association at public relations event.

NJVMA Task Forces

Membership Task Force

The Membership Task Force is charged with creating interactive social programs to increase member involvement in the NJVMA.

CE Task Force

The CE Task Force is charged with educational content development for the NJVMA Veterinary Education Conference; including veterinary topics, technician topics, practice management topics, speakers and learning objectives. The CE Task Force also reviews and approves applications for outside providers of continuing education in New Jersey.

Opioid Task Force

The Opioid Task Force is charged with liaising with state health departments, regulatory agencies and legislators on issues surrounding the Opioid Epidemic. The Opioid Task Force offers guidance on how veterinarians can participate and contribute to fighting the opioid epidemic in ways that are feasible for, relevant to, and practical for the profession while maintaining the ability for veterinarians to appropriately combat pain in our patients.
