Marketing and Communications Coordinator
Monica DeAngelo serves as the Marketing and Communications Coordinator for the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association. Her responsibilities include brand management, digital marketing and social media strategy. Monica has over 10 years of marketing experience having worked at Bessemer Trust Wealth Management and HBK CPAs & Consultants. Monica graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a degree in Finance and Economics.
Kathleen Neumann, DVM
Strategic Initiatives Director
Dr. Neumann received her veterinary degree from the University of Minnesota. Following veterinary school, she completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the ASPCA Hospital in New York City and a specialty internship in Dermatology with ASECVET. She was NJVMA’s 2013 Rising Leader and served on the PR Committee before serving as interim Executive Director in 2019. As Strategic Initiatives Director, she is responsible for leading the development of content for the association’s annual conference, establishing industry partnerships, and assisting in government affairs.
Phillip Russo, CAE
Phil Russo is the Executive Director of the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association. In this role, he leads the board in identifying, attaining, sustaining, and growing success in all areas. His areas of expertise include strategic and operational planning; culture development; innovative non-dues revenue programs; communications, public relations, and publications; conference and tradeshow strategy and execution; and market research and benchmarking. Phil has a bachelor of arts degree in Journalism from Rutgers University and an Associates in Applied Sciences degree in Marketing from Middlesex County College. In 1997, Phil earned the Certified Associate Executive designation attesting to his expertise in running non-profit organizations; he has maintained that designation continuously since that time.
Membership & Meetings Coordinator
Kathleen is the “first stop” for member and attendee inquiries, going above and beyond to ensure the highest level of member satisfaction. Kathleen also assists in meeting planning, communications, and supporting volunteers. Prior to joining the NJVMA team, Kathleen worked as an Executive Assistant for an insurance company in Morris County for 12 years.
