Every year the NJVMA selects a Board Apprentice from the New Jersey veterinarian community. The Board Apprentice participates in all Executive Board meetings in a non-voting capacity, for the entire fiscal year (January 1 – December 31). It is hoped the Apprentice will run for an elected seat on the Board after completing the apprenticeship.
The Board Apprentice may also receive complimentary registration to the AVMA Veterinary Leadership Conference (VLC) in early January in Chicago, Illinois. If the budget allows, funds may also be available to cover some or all of the Apprentice’s travel, hotel, and meal expenses while attending VLC.
NJVMA Veterinarian members who graduated in the last 15 years are eligible to apply for the Board Apprentice seat.
